"Solis" is a BlueCat quarterfinalist

"Solis," a 60 minute drama pilot written by Dana Brawer, is a quarterfinalist in this year's prestigious BlueCat Screenwriting Competition!

Here's a bit BlueCat's positive feedback:

"The use of exposition and inferences to convey the narrative are one of the primary aspects that make this script so strong. The ambience, characters and diegesis are conveyed through this, allowing the reader to fully immerse themselves in the world of the story... Furthermore, we have an interesting and complex protagonist, who has her own agency to do the right thing... She is witty, brave and makes it effortless to empathize with... Additionally, all of the characters are fully developed and their distinct personalities are conveyed through their behaviours, particularly Perez and they way he establishes his power over Ari. The dialogue also resembles realistic conversations that gives the characters an authentic dynamic and relationship."

"Legendary" receives glowing write up from The Tracking Board

"Legendary," a raunchy high school feature comedy script (SUPERBAD meets BROAD CITY), co-written with Sean Lee, received a positive write up from The Tracking Board and is now featured on their website! Check out their response below:

"A humorous take on the last days of senior year, and that last chance for glory, it’s a classic story about making your mark, this time told from a female perspective. The pacing is great, with the plot always pushing forward with increasingly ridiculous and hilarious situations. The jokes are consistent throughout the script, and each character has a distinct sense of humor that provides for a diversity of comedy, leaving something for everyone to enjoy. Two fantastic lead characters anchor this wild tale, and the depth and skill of their characterization is what makes the ending as cathartic and emotional as it is funny."   -The Tracking Board

Interview & Review by FF2 Media

A whopping thank you to FF2 Media & The Hot Pink Pen for publishing an interview with me as well as a positive review of The Red Card!

FF2 called me their "Filmmaker to Watch," and in the interview, Jessica Perry and I discuss The Red Card, my inspiration as an artist, and what it's like being a young women in the film industry.

Be sure to check out The Red Card review, too.  "With a compelling performance from Amber Collins-Ives as Sam, and a subtle yet strong social statement from Brawer, The Red Card deserves all the recognition it is earning on the festival circuit. Dana Brawer is definitely a filmmaker to watch, and I can’t wait to see what she does next!"
